Purpose
The HR Academy, created to provide exposure to a variety
of HR-related core competencies and skill enhancements,
will be offered in a series of structured, ongoing training
and development seminars. The seminars will be geared
toward HR professionals at each level as well as individuals
who have human resource related responsibilities.
Program Development
Members from GCHRA’s Professional Development
Committee and the Chamber’s Workforce Solutions
Group will put together recommended seminar curriculum
in conjunction with The Academy’s consultants,
Dr. Linda Gravett, SPHR and Robin Throckmorton, MA,
SPHR. The curriculum will be used to solicit presenters
from GCHRA and GCCC as well as for marketing and advertising
The Academy.
Structure
The Academy’s comprehensive curriculum will encompass
information on current best practices, research, and
trends in human resources. Presented through Power Point
presentations, in a classroom environment, sessions
will be highly interactive with directed discussions,
case studies, and hands on activities.
Value
By attending, participants will come away with an understanding
of how HR can be a strategic partner and how to put
knowledge obtained into practice. Handouts will be provided
to serve as a desk reference. These handouts will include
the Power Point presentation, checklists, policies,
forms, and websites so additional information can be
obtained.

Time: 7:15 -
8:00 am: Registration and Continental Breakfast; 8:00
am -12:00 noon: Seminar Program
Enrollment
Participants are able to choose from individual programs
or attend the entire series. Enrollment will be capped
at 40 participants for each session and will be done
on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration forms

Pricing
For all GCHRA members the cost to attend an individual
seminar will be $75.00. For non-members, the cost is
$125.00.
Additional $25.00 if registration
is submitted after initial due date, including walk-ins.
Free parking will be available along with a continental
breakfast.

Participants will receive a handout that can be used
as a desk reference. These handouts will include the
